Find the freshest seasonal ingredients to take back home right at the roadside. “Farm fresh” has never been closer than the dozens of County farm stands. Don’t worry if there’s no one around; many still go by the honour system using a make-your-own-change bucket. We know it’s tempting and those cows are cute, but please respect our hard-working farmers and their animals by staying at the farm-gate and please only ‘pick your own’ when advertised. Cross off all your grocery list items, plus pick up some lunch at any of our weekly Farmers’ Markets, where you can meet the growers and makers. Many local growers and producers might make the trek to you, via markets in Toronto, Belleville, and Kingston, where you can pick up direct or order through a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).
